To implement consistent, healthy habits that support a meaningful life, it is helpful to expand your perspective to see the whole picture. Today’s guest, Jonah Larkin, helps us do that. He likens our current situation to being like humans living in a zoo and helps us break free.

The older we get the more I recognize there are many layers of life and humanity that our cultural norms do not address. Today’s Man Alive podcast guest goes so far as to say that as humans, most of us currently live like we are in a zoo, because we so far from our natural habitat — disconnected from nature and people.
Jonah Larkin, Coach, Acupuncturist, Functional medicine practitioner and facilitator for the famed Interpersonal Dynamics Program at Stanford’s graduate school of business, has spent months meditating and going deep into the archetypal nature of humanity and masculinity.
He admits that even with all of his training and meditating, it is challenging to put the pieces together to create a healthy and meaningful life. Jonah used his own struggle to have consistent, daily practices to understand how to dissolve lingering resistance and create a morning rhythm reset. In our conversation we discussed:
- Why humans are like animals in a zoo and the impact this has on our lives
- 4 steps to create positive and consistent habits
- The awakened warrior vs the shadow warrior archetypes
- What it takes to reach self-mastery
- The brain hacks Jonah discovered as he overcame his resistance to daily practices
Jonah is a man with an incredible range of wisdom. I appreciate and trust his perspectives.
