In the 100th episode of Man Alive I celebrate men and share a vision for a world where men are supported and understood in their most vulnerable places. I also talk about the Man Alive podcast origins and where it’s headed.
Today is the day — Man Alive’s 100th episode! I’m so happy you’re here.
I wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate you and share more about Man Alive — why I started it, where it’s heading and what I want for you and all men.
More than a decade ago, a man told me that I (along with some others) brought him back to life. He hadn’t been sure he had it in him to continue with life. He was facing extremely painful relationship, parenting and internal challenges.
You may never have reached the point of imagining taking your own life, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you knew what it was like for some part of you to feel like it was dying, or lacking what you needed to really feel alive.
Man Alive was created as a resource for men to feel more alive and supported, rather than alone and lacking vitality and inspiration.
In this episode my dear friend and colleague Michael Welp interviewed me. I talked about…
- What men who are givers need to receive more of
- How to use midlife to find more meaning and aliveness in a man’s life
- The importance of being able to know, ask for and co-create what you want
- The causes of suffering for men I’ve worked with and the path to healing that pain
- The origins of Man Alive and where its heading
To celebrate this 100th episode I’d be really grateful if you would share the podcast with one man you think could use support in his life with love, leadership and leaving a legacy, or a man who values growing.
Thank you for being with me to celebrate the 100th episode of Man Alive. I’m excited to continue with more experts, wisdom and useful content to support you!

Why does Shana coach men?!
When I started my Masters degree in Psychology I was clearly headed toward working with women. But in the midst of my program I was given an opportunity to start coaching men. As men trusted me with their vulnerability and the pressure of expectations, responsibilities, doubt and fear, as I saw parts of men I know many women may never see… I fell in love with men!
It wasn’t long before I realized how little support men get and how unaccepting people can be of both your fears AND desires, especially men who think and feel deeply or are more sensitive than the “Man Mold” teaches you to be.
I know you are innately powerful and lovable. I know your desires are good. I have love and respect for your truest, wildest and most tender places. Nothing is too raw, too bold or too vulnerable to bring to me. I am honored to be on your side and help you create a life where you are fulfilled, inspired, respected, listened to, wanted, loved and cared for.
