Many men find it challenging to stay inspired amidst all the demands on their time and attention. When they realize that some of the energy drain comes from old wounds that formed an internal protector, they start to make the shift toward freedom. Today’s guest shows you how to turn hard times into the freedom you seek..

All men (and humans) have scared parts, controlling parts, and parts that wonder: “What’s wrong with me?”
We also have parts that are free, flexible, and love to grow and play.
Part of the path to shift from struggling or surviving, to living a life that inspires you, is to give less air time to the parts that make you wrong, and more to the ones who are excited to discover who you want to be.
Today’s Man Alive podcast is a master class for navigating struggles in a way that allows you to be real, vulnerable, and supported. Kenny Mammarella-D’Cruz, a personal development consultant and leader of men’s groups for over 15 years, joined me to discuss how men can be freer, and more alive, rather than stuck in their shadows and disempowering stories.
We discussed…
- How to trust life and why you don’t have to know all the answers
- How to break the spell of disempowering thinking
- What it means to “man up” in a self-affirming way
- How to recover your vitality from your inner parts, especially the protector and broken spirited child
- The importance of you receiving more
Kenny is a man who has experienced the kind of challenges most of us never will. At seven years old, in Uganda, his family received a phone call that the Secret Service was out to kill them. He had to leave his school, his friends, and his country! This has created incredible resilience and a depth of wisdom that Kenny now brings to men around the world, through his men’s circles and facilitator trainings.
When you’re done with this episode, check out our first episode, where we focused even more on How to Be a Powerful Man, Without Ignoring the Boy in You.
If you are struggling, please find someone you trust to talk to rather than trying to go it alone. If you want support in your love life and/or career, fill out this form to tell me more about yourself.
