Show notes
Many people tell me they struggle to know what to say, on dates and in relationships. They want to be real, but are worried that could come across as too much. They worry their words will reveal they are not smart or interesting enough. They have desires they aren’t sure another person will feel good about.
It’s common to get frozen or tongue tied when you want to communicate something you fear will upset or offend a partner, or will make them want to leave you.
Today’s podcast guests, Patrick Short and Tiffany Crotty, have found a way to make communicating easier, and even more fun. They lead workshops and events that use improv exercises to help people get out of their own way and be more spontaneous and connected. They also perform in a show called Comedy Sportz, which I’ve had the pleasure of attending.
In this interesting and inspiring conversation we discussed…
- How to connect with the person who is actually in front of you, rather than being stuck in your fears or worries
- Relearning how to be a good person – supportive, collaborative, and a great listener
- The danger of making assumptions, and how this kills spark and connection
- The skill of making others look good, that works wonders in dating, marriage, parenting, etc.
- What to do when you think you’ve made a mistake, or said the wrong thing
When you’re done with this one, check out the Epic Love Giveaway package.
