Men who love women have often been taught to play games and learn lines to catch a woman’s attention. But it’s ultimately exhausting and unsatisfying to keep up a façade and then you never get to be known or loved for who you really. These days women are looking for authenticity and today’s guest talks about how to bring it.
Show notes
One of the most important foundations of my work with men has always been that you can be real with women, rather than needing games or lines to impress them. And that women are actually more drawn to you when you’re genuine, than when you’re imitating behaviors another man deemed correct, or manly.
The question I often hear though is, “What if being myself isn’t working?”
When my clients ask this, what we have discovered is that “being yourself” doesn’t mean staying stuck in old habits and patterns and being disempowered or checked out. It doesn’t mean allowing your anxiety, or wounded parts to run the show. Discovering who you really are is a powerful journey, and one that invites growth and evolution — growth in service of your own sovereignty and self-love, rather than in service of impressing a woman. Men tell me that discovering and allowing more of themselves feels amazing!
Today’s Man Alive podcast guest is passionate about using dating as a vehicle for men to step into their higher selves. He helps analytical men attract & date women in an authentic way. Ege Reynolds is a former software engineer, and is now the founder & CEO of the Charming Man. To be honest, Ege is younger than many of my guests. I grilled him a bit, before bringing him on to Man Alive, to make sure I trusted his authenticity. He passed my “test” with flying colors.
In our conversation we discussed…
- Starting conversations with women when you want something
- How logic fails analytical men and why connecting to a woman’s heart is key
- The importance of the energy you bring to each interaction
- How to navigate fear and anxiety with women
- The healing that can happen as a result of relating to women
Ege speaks to the importance of being able to appreciate beauty that goes deeper than surface, and about helping women feel great about themselves. I enjoyed this conversation and think you will too. Even if you’ve been in a relationship for a while, there are great take-aways for connecting more deeply with women. When you’re done with this one, check out this episode on how your relationship with your father affects your sense of masculinity and how you feel about yourself, with a powerful therapist and author Jed Diamond.
May you be more and more comfortable and relaxed with all of yourself, remembering there is nothing you need to hide or prove!
