Alison Armstrong and I discuss how you can communicate your sexual needs more effectively, and how men and women can better understand each other, so everyone gets to have a more fulfilling, connected, and hotter sex life.
If you’re not satisfied with your love or sex-life, and could use some insights into what makes women want more of you, tell me more about yourself here and we’ll schedule a time to talk: shanajamescoaching.com/consult

Many men come to me with some negative feelings about their sexuality.
While men often love sex, they find themselves…
- Conflicted — having been rejected in the past for their desires, so sex takes on baggage they need to get free from
- At a transition point — shifting from being able to easily get aroused physically, to needing more connection and intimacy, and not understanding their current heart / body connection
- Longing — for a partner to co-create a fun and connected sex life, rather than be turned down or shut out
A lack of sex education, as well as a lack of education in communication and emotional intelligence, makes sex complex for many people.
Years ago I had an amazing conversation with a powerful teacher, Alison Armstrong. Alison has been designing and leading transformational programs for adults for over 25 years. In 1995, after four years of studying men for her personal benefit, she created the Celebrating Men, Satisfying Women workshop to share her extraordinary findings with women. She also co-founded PAX Programs Inc., with the mission of “altering society’s culture by transforming the way women relate to men.”
Alison and I talked about owning your sexual needs and restoring your sexual honor. We focused on the dynamic between men and women, since most men who come to me are heterosexual, though I fully support men in all sexualities and think you can get a lot out of this teaching no matter who you choose to love and have sex with.
In this episode we cover:
- A simple and powerful process for transforming anything you feel ashamed about or stuck with
- Why men NEED sex (I know you know, but trust me, there’s more)
- How to effectively communicate your desire for sex so you get to have it!
- What women really find sexy in you that you may be holding back for fear it’s not sexy
- What Alison taught her son about women’s erogenous zones that every boy and men would benefit from knowing
If communicating about sex and love poses challenges for you — on dates or years into a relationship — check out my upcoming class (just in time for Valentine’s day):
How to Evoke a Woman’s Desires and Help Her Open to Yours
I’ve also called this class: Share Your Desires Without Freaking a Woman Out (And Hear Hers)!
Instead of a dynamic where your desires overwhelm or worry a woman, where she then shuts down, you can set a woman up to hear you and collaborate with you. It is so empowering to be able to do this..

Bio:
Born in Laguna Beach, California in 1960, Alison Armstrong has been designing and leading transformational programs for adults for over 20 years. In 1995, after four years of studying men for her personal benefit, she created the Celebrating Men, Satisfying Women workshop to share her extraordinary findings with women across the nation. With her friend Joan McClain, a banking executive, she founded PAX Programs Incorporated with the mission of “altering society’s culture by transforming the way women relate to men.”
No stranger to revolutionary initiatives, in 1990 Alison founded the Orange County Summit for Children, a bold project described by the Presiding Judge of the Orange County Juvenile court as one which, “has forever altered the way children’s issues in Orange County are addressed.” (LA Times) For years, Alison provided the vision and inspiration in persuading representatives of government agencies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and philanthropic foundations to align and cooperate in serving the needs of Orange County children.
Alison has been married since February 1993 to Greg, whom she refers to as “my Renaissance man. He’s a CPA, a musician, a poet, a super-fast sport-bike motorcycle rider, and an amazing father.” They live in Western Colorado as “empty-nesters.” Their 2 daughters and Alison’s son “are launched!” People often comment on her marriage, assuming they must be newlyweds. “Greg and I sometimes make people uncomfortable, although we don’t mean to. I just have the worst crush on him. And,” she adds with a smile, “Greg says he worships the water I walk on.”
